In the Spotlight: Fizzarolli!

We're back with the Designer Spotlight! This news segment is fully dedicated to put a designer in the spotlight. We've asked them about themselves, their creations, their process and their inspirations. This spotlight is for and by Fizzarolli!

Let's introduce!

Hi, I’m Fizzarolli, a 24-year-old student from Finland! I was super active on gosupermodel as a child and I was so excited to hear about it’s return! I made my model in 2022 but only became active in 2025, which is when I also started my design career! It’s honestly been my dream to be a designer on gosupermodel since I was a little kid on gsm 1.0, and I’m so happy to have made that dream come true!

I’ve been drawing my whole life, it’s truly my biggest passion in life. My design inspiration is a bit all over the place! I get inspired by music I listen to, art I see online, shows I watch, Pinterest, everything! I think I draw quite a lot of fantasy and anime inspired designs. I mainly design things I want to wear, and I’m honestly so happy that other people enjoy my items as well!

Design process and inspiration

I usually start designing based on a vibe or an item I really want to make! And then I build the rest of the design around that item. It can get a bit difficult due to the abstract nature of my ideas, which are sometimes a bit hard to grasp and turn into solid designs.

When I get a solid idea of what to make, I sketch it out on procreate. If it’s a simple design, I clean that sketch and fill it out with solid black (if it’s a more complex one, I leave the sketch in a separate layer to act as a guide), then I duplicate that layer, and make the new layer grey (about 80% lighter than black). Then I start erasing parts of the grey layer to reveal the black underneath, which functions as the shadows of the item. If needed, I add one more layer, on which I draw with a lighter grey, which functions as highlights.

For the coloring process I use gradient maps. Usually they’re some of my pre-made ones, but if needed I can whip up new ones. I take the previously mentioned layers, group them, duplicate that group, flatten it into one layer that then includes the entire shaded item, and add a gradient map to that. It’s honestly so fun to color things this way, I think its my favorite part of the process! I highly recommend this technique to anyone who struggles with shading colors, it’s somehow easier this way. You can find an example on how I design hair in my videos on gsm!

I think I take most inspiration from old GSM designers like Ad0xa, -Nochtem-, and bee XD. Their items are so imaginative and whimsical, and I grew up adoring their designs and creativity.

Past, Present and Future

I think I’d have to say the bed is my favorite item, due to how much attention it got! I was so overhelmed and happy to hear that everyone liked it, and a bit surprised I was able to execute my idea that well. Of course I also like all my different hairstyles.

Currently I’m working on a lot of different stuff and I’m finding it hard to focus, but slowly yet surely I will keep releasing new stuff!

Thank you so much everyone for supporting my designs, it means more than any words could convey <3
