This news segment is fully dedicated to put a designer in the spotlight. We've asked them about themselves, their creations, their process and their inspirations. This spotlight is for and by LauraNadinex!
Let's introduce!
Hi!
My name is LauraNadinex, but you can just call me Laura. I’m 28 (almost 29… help, 30 is getting close haha). About a year ago, I found out that GoSupermodel was back online and honestly, I was hyped! Back in the day, I used to spend hours designing in the gSm tool. When I realized that wasn’t available anymore, I decided to figure it out on my own. I started in Paint and eventually switched to Krita.
I hadn’t done anything creative for about 14 years, so at first it was a bit of a struggle. But looking back now, I can really see how much I’ve grown. Every new design helps me discover more tools, more techniques, and more of my own style.
(Check the difference between my very first design and my most recent (sneak peek!) one the glow-up is real!)
Being a community designer is honestly such a heartwarming experience. The support and love you get from the community is amazing. Sometimes I’ll open my inbox and find the sweetest messages about how someone loves or enjoys my design and that truly makes my day. And let’s be real… it was always a childhood dream of mine to log in and suddenly see my design on someone’s avatar. That moment still gives me butterflies.
As for inspiration, honestly? Every single community designer inspires me. Every time I scroll through the shop, I’m blown away by the creativity and the art people are making. I would like to give extra credit to MissAuris. From the beginning of the designer tool, I was really struggling with how folds, shadows, highlights, and everything worked, and MissAuris always took the time for me on Discord to explain it. Thanks to her time and energy, I got the right foundation to develop myself further, and I think that's just awesome!
I don’t really have any secret tricks (sorry!). The truth is, I’m still learning every single time I open Krita. Maybe that’s the real tip: just keep practicing. Don’t expect everything to be perfect from the start, allow yourself time to explore, mess up, and improve. Practice really does make progress. ❤️
My favorite designs so far? Oof, tough question! But I think my beige collection with prints has a special place in my heart. I just love how it turned out, and I’m actually planning to bring back more prints this spring.

Right now, I’ve been very focused on Halloween designs (spooky season and all that ), but starting November/December, I’ll shift more towards fashion and glam again. And yes, I do have quite a few works in progress… some are just messy outlines at the moment, but I promise there’s a lot more coming soon!

Wow, what a ride this has been already! If you told younger me that one day I’d see my own items walking around on gSm avatars, I probably wouldn’t have believed you. Designing here feels like living a little piece of that childhood dream and it’s even more fun because I get to share it with such an amazing, creative, and supportive community.
To everyone who has ever worn one of my designs, left me a sweet message, or just cheered me on: THANK YOU. You honestly have no idea how much it means and how motivating it is. Every time I see someone rocking one of my pieces, it makes me smile like crazy 😄
To my fellow designers: keep going, keep experimenting, and don’t stress if it’s not “perfect” right away. We’re all learning, and every design you make is a step forward. And most importantly: have fun with it! ❤️
I’m super excited for the future! I’ve got plenty of ideas (and yes, way too many half-finished projects on my PC, haha), so stay tuned for more!
Big hugs,
Laura (LauraNadinex) ♥
