goSupertools - Designer Spotlight: LostMySoul
In the spotlight: LostMySoul!

GoSupermodel is filled with so many creative and highly talented designers. We already had an amazing JD and GD-team, but with the introduction of Community Made we have been spoiled rotten.

This news segment is fully dedicated to put a designer in the spotlight. Who are they? How do they create these stunning designs and what are they inspired by? This spotlight is for and by LostMySoul!

Let's introduce!

Hi! My name is LostMySoul aka Jenna.
I have always loved making digital art and graphics. My inspiration usually comes from my own head and interests so thats why my designs look very different from how i actually look.

On goSupermodel i host a club called Community Designers together with some amazing managers. ♡ Big thanks for them! :3
We started it to keep the sense of community alive in designing and to share stats and lists about different procress of designer tool submissions.

What i love most on gSm is our designer community and all from my friendlist who are so friendly, talented and really sweet persons. ♡

Design process and inspiration

What does your design process look like?

My process usually starts with an idea that makes me happy, whether its an animal, a holiday, a fantasy creature or just a style I would like to wear in real life. Sometimes it comes straight from imagination, sometimes I use Pinterest, and other times I recreate some of my old designs. I mostly begin by sketching outlines over the model, then plan the shapes and colors.

Here is a video of me designing!

What's it like to be a community designer?

Being a community designer has been a mix of excitement and challenges. I love that not only Junior-/GoDesigners can made designs in to the game. Designer tool is one of my favorite updates. ♡ At the same time criticism and long waits can be tough, but i try to grow to be better designer, but at same time i need to try keep my own style, even if its not for everyones liking.

Are there any designers that are inspiration to you or that you look up to? / Who are your inspirations?

Some designers who inspire me most are Jopie, cries, Ellie, haavsalt and Leni15. There are many others too, but what i love most about these peoples styles is the variety they bring to the game. They always create something new and unique that is also well designed. I like that their work brings life and color to goSupermodel. Honestly though there are so many talented designers on gSm that its impossible to name them all.

Are there any tools/guides/tips/tricks or secrets that you'd like to share with other designers?

If i had to give one tip to other designers: check your work on Spiggs site: https://gopixel.art/

It helps spot floating pixels and checks if items fit all skins. Also make sure your designs are well blended so they dont look unfinished. On the computer i used the program FireAlpaca, and nowadays i draw on an Android tablet and using Krita. I usually use basic brushes or a pixel art brush, size 1.0px, except for coloring, where i use the paintbucket or a thicker brush.

Past, present and future!

Looking back, what is your favorite item? What are you most proud of and why?

My favorite of my own creations so far is the axolotl set, because i love axolotls and im a huge Minecraft player with a giant axolotl pool in my realms. I usually like my outfits as full sets more than individual items, though i tend to get bored of my own art quickly and move on to new ideas.

Looking forward, what are you working on? Do you have any sneak peeks or hints you'd like to share.

I will be working on something new and something old, while showing more of my inner self through of my work. I dont have any wips yet, all r in my head. I want to start something new, when my old designs get mostly approved. I wish i can make something snowy and something cozy. That is my favorite season of the year. Winter!

Finally, thank you for letting me share my story.

I wish everyone lots of faith in themselves and their abilities. Its wonderful and important to be who you are, to create art in your own style, and to bring out diversity! Thats brave and admirable! ♡

Dont let discouragement or negative reception hold you back in designing, practice will always make you better and better. So stay strong and value every piece of work you have created and will create. Art is not just one right way of doing things, its a vast field where everyone has the right to create art that looks like themselves.

See you on gSm! Cant wait to see all the amazing art you will create!
