JD mock-up with: Debut!
Hello you wonderful people!
As you may have noticed, the Junior Designer competition has begun. We are awaiting patiently for all the final designs to be published so that we can pick out favourites and show our support!
However, we wanna take the time and stand still with the people who sadly weren't asked to compete in round two this time around.
We asked them to send us their designs for a little mock-up, and a few questions so we can get to know them better for the next round!
Today's user is Debut with his Fairycore outfit!
1. Please share a little of your creative process, before you sit down to make something. What do you like to do to get the creative juices flowing?
''Usually my creative process starts with going on pinterest and looking at a lot of pictures for some inspiration. Pinterest has many outfit ideas and unique looking items, which is why i think it is a great place to start my creative process. I also like to ask my friends for inspiration, and they are (most of the time) very helpful and inspiring. When it comes to actually designing, i usually have to design my items at least 2-3 times before im happy with them, which can often mean a lot of going back and forth.''
2. If you were chosen to compete in the Junior Designer competition, what would be your biggest goal as a designer? Models styling your items? Sharing creativity or love for a certain fashion icon?
''If they picked me to compete, my biggest goal would definitely be to make items and see others use them for looks. I love how people use items differently, so i think this would be really awesome! I also think GSM needs more kpop inspired items. I've already done a few just for fun, but would also love to bring some TWICE inspired fashion to the site.''
3. If you could describe your style with a few sentences, what would it be?
''I feel like my style is either pretty "basic", like simple, cute or sexy items and outfits, also fits inspired by celebrities and pop culture. On the other side i do like making fantasy inspired outfits and outfits that tell some kind of weird story. My more basic side is definitely overrepresented in my designs, but i would like to show another side of my designs later on!''
4. What is your most favourite thing to make? Either for models or as a drawing in general.
''My number one favorite thing to make is definitely hairs. I just feel like there is so much potential to play with colors, lengths, textures and accessories, and i find that fun to do. I also think its what im best at, and im the type of person that enjoy things i feel good at lmao. I also realized in making my entry designs that i enjoy doing makeup quite alot.''
5. If you want to inspire any budding artist, what do you want to tell them?
I would tell any budding artists: don't give up, take some breaks if you need, its gonna be a difficult road sometimes, but eventually you'll see improvement and it'll feel good!
Teddirachi's fashion check: The first thing that stands out to me are the beautifully detailed wings! it seems a lot of love was put into it. Otherwise the whole outfit is a great hit, the colorscheme is nice but can also be combined very well with other looks, the sleeves give a lot of personality. The technique is also very impressive, especially in the smalle details like the tarned top and the wings!
