Changes to model displays
Hello you wonderful people!
You may have already heard, but goSupermodel is updating its internal system to bring us the exciting new Creator Update—where all models can upload their own designs! We’re thrilled about this, but it also means we need to take a closer look at the workings of gSt’s internal structure.
With the mannequins already being used for displaying existing items, we had to explore other ways with alternative models to test this new feature. This ensures a smooth transition for us as well. We considered several options—read on to find out what we ultimately chose!
Test subject one: Ssslithering Ssstyle
At first, we thought a snake would be the perfect model, its slender figure seemed ideal for elegant clothing. However, once in the gSt studios, we realized a small issue. Snakes don’t have arms. While it could slither gracefully in scarves, bags and strapless dresses were out of the question.
Test subject two: Deerly fashion
The deer seemed like a solid candidate, able to carry a bag, wear a dress, and balance a hat. Unfortunately, our enthusiasm got the better of us, and we may have overdone the hats… many, many hats. The deer’s patience wore thin long before our styling session did.
Test subject three: Ducking awesome!
The ducks, to our delight, had no trouble with hats, and even a small bag could be tucked under its wing. Sneakers were a success, but when it came to heels, things took a turn. It turns out webbed feet and stilettos don’t mix, and neither do ducks and runway etiquette.
Test subject four: Beary high class
The bear was a dream! Graceful with bags, perfectly still for accessories, and an all-around professional. That was, until we tried fitting him into a dress and realized tailoring around a bear's build is no small feat. While the final look was stunning, the bear’s modeling career was cut short due to an ever-growing alterations bill.
Ultimately, we decided on the Chinchilla model! Its ears are perfect for displaying hats, its small yet sturdy paws can carry even the heaviest bags, and its bushy tail ensures that even the widest skirts are shown in all their glory. Plus, since chinchillas are nocturnal, their schedule perfectly matches that of our staff!
Starting today, April 1st, we’ll be using chinchilla models exclusively to display all our clothing. Check out the database now to see them in action!
(P.s. Chizumi isn't forcing us to say this. We are safe. Really... really really.. safe.. ha... ha....)
