What are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They help the website recognize your device and remember your preferences over time, enabling a more personalized and efficient browsing experience.

2. Analytics Cookies

These cookies help us understand how visitors interact with our website by collecting and reporting information anonymously. They provide insights that enable us to improve the website's functionality and user experience.

  • Google Analytics: We use Google Analytics to track and analyze website traffic. Google Analytics collects data such as your IP address, device information, browser type, and pages visited. This information helps us understand user behavior, such as which pages are most visited, how users navigate through the site, and the duration of visits.
  • Data Processing: The data collected through Google Analytics is transmitted to and stored by Google on servers in the United States. Google uses this information to evaluate your use of the website, compile reports on website activity, and provide other services related to website activity and internet usage. goSuperTools - Changes to auction data

Changes to auction data

Regarding auction prices

Many of you have probably already noticed that goSupertools has had some hick-ups regarding performance and the display of auction prices. We're sad to share that it is not possible to sustain the current method of fetching auction prices. In this newspost we want to quickly update you on what is happening, what is going to change and what to expect.

Why no more fetched auctions?
The current system how we get auctions is very taxing on the goSupertools servers
. Most of the lag and general slow speed of the website is related to that process and the displaying of those values. And it has been a problem for a long time. So we have no choice and have to make this decision and step away from this method.

Submitted auction will take over.
Luckily we have a fantastic alternative
. A little while ago we've already (due to again the amazing cooperation of Naddi) introduced a way to submit auctions with the Better Gsm Extension. This data is already way more trustworthy, as the fetched auctions often missed last minute bidding. The submitted auctions will fully overtake the fetched auctions. For that, it will get a prominent place on the item page. This means we are relying on YOU to submit your auctions!

What will happen with the current fetched auction data?
Don
't worry, we will not just delete the current data. You will be able to look up the data on the Item pages, but it will not be prominently featured anymore as the data won't be up to date.

What will that look like?
The image below is a screenshot of the item data pages (in darkmode) and shows the following functions (numbers and letters in red):

A. - Auction prices (these are submitted auctions)
  1. The auction values combined (highest, median and lowest)
  2. A button that opens the auction list (overview of all submitted auctions)
  3. A button to open archived auctions (the database for fetched auctions, which is no longer up to date)
B. - Trade prices (there are submitted trades)
  1. The trade values combined (highest, median and lowest)
  2. A button that opens the trades list (overview of all submitted trades)

With all these changes, the item pages are becoming a mess!        We agree. That is why the next months we're going to do some major renovation on the item pages. We've had it on our Fox's trail (development plans) for a while now and have been brainstorming a lot. We're always looking into ways to better display and provide information about the items. Now it's mainly a matter of building the new page and implementing the changes. This however will take still some time, but know that that is coming.

We hope that you will understand these changes, but we can imagine that there are some questions remaining. Feel free to reach out to us to ask. And you're always more than welcome to leave feedback, suggestions or your questions in our goSupermodel club.

tl;dr:

  • Fetched auctions will be stopped.
  • Submitted auctions will take it's place.
  • You'll be able to still see the old fetched auction data (but less prominently).
  • We are working on an update for the item display pages.
  • Let us know if you have questions.
