Spooky JD mock-up!
Hello you wonderful people!
It's finally Halloween! Doctor X was helped, the nature witches got their price outfit and we've had many fun shop drops and other event items. The event on gSm is coming to an end, but we are not done celebrating just yet.
If you remember, in the beginning of October, Spigg hosted a Halloween Design Comp. 25 winners were picked and their items were featured in a guest designers shop drop. Instead of celebrating the winners, we would also like to highlight and celebrate some of the amazing items that did not make it to the final 25 and give the designers a chance to tell you about their hard work.
For every designer that also submitted an item to the Halloween Design Comp and wasn't picked. If you want your item to be featured in this news post as well; contact Teddirachi on gSm!

What inspired you?
What inspired me? I generally love the spooky season and the theme of magic and witches. We once had a really nice cauldron on GSM (back then in a VIP outfit). Based on my memory and the desire for a cauldron for my own witch looks and also the competition that I organize in my club, I decided to design one. It's my first design. I'm not a good illustrator either.
How did you prepare for creating this design?
To be honest, I didn't really prepare. I used the program Krita. Since it is my first digital drawing, I learned about the tools. I already had a basic idea. I also thought a cauldron would be a good start for someone who had long since given up drawing and only recently rediscovered it.
Will you participate in future design competitions, and if so, what theme would you love to see?
I'll definitely try it. I find everything that has to do with mythology, fantasy and gothic interesting. Oh and Steam and Cyber Punk. I also think the styles are great.

What inspired you?
I was very inspired by some candle items by GD aware and JD haavsalt’s skirts, and wanted to create something unique that I would personally also like to layer on top or underneath other skirts and dresses on my own model.
How did you prepare for creating this design?
The process is somewhat not that complicated so I didn’t use that much time for preparation. The first I did was draw the base, the shape of the skirt, then choose some colours and colour it, add candles and lastly add smoke. I usually just go with the flow and don’t sketch too much for only one item.
Will you participate in future design competitions, and if so, what theme would you love to see?
Probably? But I’ve participated in a lot of design competitions without luck and I must admit it is tiring after a while. But it’s fun to design when I feel inspired and I love to challenge myself with any themes. Maybe a fairytale theme or design something based on a fantasy book.

What inspired you?
I'm not very good at drawing with shades and everything, so I wanted to make something that could look decent without such. I played around in Krita and ended up with some shadow-monster to work on! Add a little bit of fire and voila, beautiful!
How did you prepare for creating this design?
I hadn't planned to participate first, so I really just went into Krita for fun. When I saw that there was potential, I went with the creative flow.
Will you participate in future design competitions, and if so, what theme would you love to see?
I don't know, maybe. I love the comps where you create just one item. It puts less pressure on us less experienced, so we can join in on the fun too!

What inspired you?
I have always been a fan of the more darker and gory stuff in Halloween and I wanted to do something with these themes in mind and at the same time do something I hadn't seen on GSM.
How did you prepare for creating the design?
I do not prepare anything haha. I'm so just go with the creativity type of person, so when I had an idea I just draw, I actually did 4 different things and chose to go with this on the last day of the comp.
Will you participate in future design competitions, and if so, what theme would you love to see?
I probably will participate in the future if the theme will be fun or I get an idea what to draw. I have always loved the items that change the model somehow, for example dresses that put the legs in a different position and I would love a theme centered around that type of stuff where we could play with the different possibilities!

What inspired you?
I personally really like vampires, so I was inspired by gothic Victorian dresses with very long sleeves and an off shoulder look!
How did you prepare for creating it?
Looking up inspiration on Pinterest and putting on some ambience vampire music for the vibe hehe
Will you participate in future design competitions, and if so, what theme would you love to see?
- I personally don't think I will tbh
