JD mock-up with: Gaymersalsa!
Hello you wonderful people!
We got a new teaser for a beautiful JD drop, and we're still awaiting the official title for all the new JD! But, until it's their moment to shine, let's appericiate the people who didn't make it to the finals this round.
We asked them to send us their designs for a little mock-up, and a few questions so we can get to know them better for the next round Today's user is Gaymersalsa with his Fairycore outfit!
1. Please share a little of your creative process, before you sit down to make something. What do you like to do to get the creative juices flowing?
''if i'm not drawing for myself only (usually in a therapeutic way), i try to bounce ideas in my head and sketch them out before deciding to commit something. scrolling through pinterest, tumblr, and even taking walks in nature is also very inspiring, and can provide much needed references!''
2. If you were chosen to compete in the Junior Designer competition, what would be your biggest goal as a designer? Models styling your items? Sharing creativity or love for a certain fashion icon?
''designing masculine items because we are still very much lacking on those! more facial hair in the common hair colours is my number one request that i wish we had! but also sharing creativity and being able to inspire other people is my favourite thing about being an artist, although i don't need to be a JD to be able to do that :,) <3''
3. If you could describe your style with a few sentences, what would it be?
''in real life fashion? comfy and earth-toned. in gsm fashion? layered, whimsical, trans-masculine. in my gsm designs? unknown. experimental. completely new to me as an art medium. we will have to see how i push my art boundaries with new designs!!''
4. What is your most favourite thing to make? Either for models or as a drawing in general.
''i love drawing portraits and animals! i also enjoy painting landscapes a lot. i've dabbled in a lot of different art mediums, but my favourites are oils and gouache to paint with, as well as ceramics! art history is one of my favourite special interests, so i love taking inspiration of works from the romantic and impressionism eras for my painting work.''
5. If you want to inspire any budding artist, what do you want to tell them?
''everybody's starting point is shit for a new skill. the sooner you try to let go of a need to compare yourself to other artists (especially on social media - people only show their best efforts), the better! instead, try to enjoy the process of creating itself, and join an art class in real life if you're able to! being consistent is the key <3''
Teddirachi's fashion check: Shhht... I better whisper this fashion check, i'd hate to wake-up this wonderfully majestic baby deer. Look at those frail little wings, and the way it's curled up at the feet? Absolutely adorable! The hat in the form of a flower is classic, yet timeless. The stem at the end is a nice touch! My favourite piece is the mushroom shoulder pad. It's unique to the fairy theme, very creative and well thought out! The skirt, top and over skirt are very good basics that can be used for any look! The way the sleeves have been made show true quality and dedication!
